Guilty Conscience Plugin

I got bored tonight and decided to try my hand at modifying a simple but noticeable WordPress plugin. I made a copy of the Hello Dolly plugin and changed the lyrics from those of “Hello, Dolly” by Luis Armstrong to those of “Guilty Conscience” by Dr. Dre and Eminem (on the Chronic 2001 album).

WordPress 2.5

WordPress 2.5 was released yesterday.  I spent all day backing up my sites today and upgrading my base install to the new version.  I was already running version 2.4-bleeding (the development version), but there were a couple of minor tweaks in the release that improved the admin interface, so I acted quick to get the [...]

Goodbye ZenPhoto, hello WordPress?

That’s right - it has been only a few weeks of tinkering with my site I have come to the realization that I bet on the wrong horse. As my friend Dan kindly reminded me tonight, this happens often. Admittedly, I do get excited about a new method I stumble across on the [...]

Imagery over content?

Web designs with large imagery have a positive effect on the viewer’s impression of your content. I have read many articles on sites that are all text and minimalist design. Picking a tumblelog theme

(UPDATE:  Thanks to the Virtual Mutliblog plugin, I have combined my tumblelog with my main blog, and now use the same theme for both as well.  The original theme is no longer available for download as I will no longer be maintaining it for my own uses.)
When I decided to make a tumblelog, I spent [...]

My own personal tumblr

Tumblelogs are a wonderful idea for anyone who: A) can’t write decent content to save their lives; or, B) want to keep a personal web history with notes (or not) in a blog format. I fall into the latter category - I keep a blog (and this one) for my well formulated ideas that [...]
